Dancer's Beatdown is Complete!
In July of 2007, an ambitious team of dancers, actors, and filmmaking geeks joined forces to create the short film that would put tap back on the map! After finding a talented young dancer that reminded the director of himself in his own youth -talent, drive, and good looks...and an intelligence, style, and charisma that surpassed most men, young and old, John Wildman knew it was time to make his cinematic vision a reality. Thanks to the doting diligence and blind loyalty of his fiance, Wildman got the short edited. Justina Walford had never even opened Final Cut Pro before she got the 2 hours of footage, but she learned. Oh yes, she learned. And now the short film that makes you laugh, cry, and be inspired to DANCE, is dancing through the festival circuit. Until the next screening, here's some stills... |

A comedic metaphor about staying true to one's self, 'Dancer's Beatdown' is about a young man who, escorted and coaxed by a trio of women, dances 'at' three regular guys trying to have a day off. The men react by delivering a beatdown each time for this affront. But these men aren't going to get that day of relaxation until they learn a lesson. And that lesson is this: You can't kill the dance. |
